Upper Ground Floor

This visual illustrates the new media rich upper ground floor. In the new scheme you will be able to drop in and quickly browse from the journals, or watch s DVD in the comfort of a wing back armchair. The other floors will have plenty of pc’s and power points so the App tables will be somewhere you can check emails, social networks or simple google something. Adjacent to this space will be a new drop in help zone where you will be able to meet with staff in comfort.

Your new collaborative space!

This visual illustrates the new collaborative space planned for the Lower Ground Floor.  If you would like to find out more about the design or send us some comments then email us at info@nomad-rdc.com

Your new library is nearly here!

The blog has been quiet for an awfully long time.  We have been very busy designing the new spaces and the project is now beginning on site.  We will be using the blog over the coming weeks to provide you with important project updates and to load up some visuals of your new space.  To begin with, here is your new service area on the entrance floor.  We hope you love it as much as we do!

Survey

The online survey has now been taken down for analysis. We thank all participants for their valuable input.

Wednesday Workshops

Nomad will be hosting workshops at Cat Hill and Hendon at 10.30am and 2pm respectively tomorrow (27.01.10). The workshops should be shorter than the last two events and it would be great if all participants could find the time to attend. We will be feeding back on work done in workshops so far (see example above)  and our design responses to this. For those of you who cannot make it, Antonio will be present in the Quad to discuss our work so far. Please drop by and say hello if possible

News / Update

Apologies for the lack of information over the last fortnight.  Sadly for the first time in Nomad history we have been prevented from traveling by severe weather.  Fortunately we will be visiting site next week to run staff/student workshops which we are looking forward to and a member of our team will be available in the Quad on the 27th to discuss the project in detail.  More on this soon.

Merry Christmas

Its snowy here in Glasgow and very Christmassy.  If you have not stopped yet for the festive season then please take 5 minutes to take our poll.  If not our very best wishes for the festive season and the New Year.

Learning Spaces Design Poll

We have created a quick poll for you to take that will help us to understand your learning spaces and needs better. Please take 5 minutes to take our poll before the Christmas break to ensure that we can include your views in our design for your new learning spaces. We hope to have initial ideas by early January so the more views the merrier at the moment!

Cat Hill Cat

We have a very serious survey to upload in the next 24 hours.  In the meantime though we are very curious about the Cat Hill Cat.  Can anyone tell us what his/her name is and why he/she lives in Cat Hill?

Workshops

Last week we ran a couple of workshops for staff and students at both Cat Hill and Hendon.  These were a great success and we would like to thank everyone who took part.  We have collated the results and fed back to the participants involved.  If you would like to take part in one of activities from our workshops then have a think about your current learning spaces and tell us, what would you keep, change and lose?
